Update: Today is quite a sad day for music. It is now being reported by TMZ (who generally does not get stuff this big wrong) that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson is dead. He was 50 years old.

KTLA, out of Los Angeles, CA, is reporting that King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has been rushed to the hospital under cardiac arrest. When the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at Jackson's home at around 12:30 this afternoon he was not breathing.

It is unclear what may have caused this, nor do we know his current status. Update: The Twitterverse says it was due to a "heart attack" - which what does that really mean??

For weeks now celebrity blog sites have been reporting that he has been suffering from some unknown medical conditions. He was supposed to be going to a farewell tour in Europe in the near future.

This morning the internet was abuzz with rumors that Farrah Fawcett, a devout Catholic, had received her last rights. The rumors proved to be true, as Fawcett died this morning at the age of 62 after a long, and public, battle against cancer.

Her death comes just days after her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal announced that Fawcett had finally agreed to marry him - he has asked her numerous times, but his time she finally said yes after 25 years of togetherness. When he tole people the news, though, he said that they would need to shake her head yes because she was unable to speak, alluding to her worsening condition.

"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away," Fawcett's long time companion, actor Ryan O'Neal, said in a statement.

"Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."

Ed McMahon died today, June 23, 2009, at age 86. McMahon had been facing several health issues in recent years and was currently receiving treatment for pneumonia for the past several weeks at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Ed McMahon was best known as the voice (Heeeeeere's Johnny!!) and right hand man to Johnny Carson, host of the Tonight Show. McMahon also had numerous other voice and film roles throughout his life.
