This morning the internet was abuzz with rumors that Farrah Fawcett, a devout Catholic, had received her last rights. The rumors proved to be true, as Fawcett died this morning at the age of 62 after a long, and public, battle against cancer.

Her death comes just days after her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal announced that Fawcett had finally agreed to marry him - he has asked her numerous times, but his time she finally said yes after 25 years of togetherness. When he tole people the news, though, he said that they would need to shake her head yes because she was unable to speak, alluding to her worsening condition.

"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away," Fawcett's long time companion, actor Ryan O'Neal, said in a statement.

"Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."
