One of the couples among the best known international celebrities, the American singer Madonna and British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, announced Wednesday their separation.

Information, a cause of intense speculation among the tabloids in recent months, was confirmed by representatives of the singer and filmmaker.

According to Liz Rosenberg, a spokeswoman for Madonna, relations between the two are still cordial and they want to reach an agreement without having to resort to justice.

According to a BBC reporter David Bamford, the wealth of Madonna and Ritchie, combined, exceed $ 300 million.

"Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed about the divorce after seven and a half years of marriage," according to statement released by representatives of the two.
